Who can use the service of Microsoft 365?
Students, faculty, and staff who has a Common ID (SSO-KID) can use this service. However, faculty and staff whose SSO-KID begins with ‘a’(excluding emeritus professors) are not permitted to installation of software.
After graduation or retirement from Kyushu University, can I still use this service?
No, you can not use this service. Your microsoft 365 account will be deleted when you graduate or retire.
Can I set my microsoft 365 account to my PC as a log on account?
Do not set your microsoft 365 account provided by the university as the log on account for your PC. You may not be able to log on to your PC and your PC may need to be initialized.
Can I change the display name of a Microsoft 365 account provided by the university?
The display name of a Microsoft 365 account provided by the university is set based on the alphabetic name linked from the university-wide authentication platform.
If you are a student, please change the profile of SSO-KID.

If you need to set your display name for job hunting, please use the free version of Teams.

I tried to sign in first time but I could not.

An error occurs when signing into webmail after SSO-KID account activation.
There is a time lag after activating the account, so please sign in again after a while.

What is the office of software service (EES / Volume License version)?
It is the Office products that are provided by software service of Kyushu University.
It contains Office installation media that can be lent from Administrative office, and installation file downloaded from Software Working Group’s Web.
Can I use the service of Microsoft 365 at the EES or volume license version office?
Yes, you can use the service of Microsoft 365 even EES office.
When I executed the office application to edit a file, the message was showed “View Only”. I could not edit any file.
Please try below procedure.
- Reboot OS.
- Uninstall the office software then install it again. Please contact us if your problem was not solved yet.
Unable to install add-ins.
You must apply to activate the add-in.

Microsoft Teams
Can I use Microsoft Teams?
Some features of Microsoft Teams are available.
Please refer to the following URL for details.
“Unknown User” is displayed in Teams.
This will naturally improve over time and the correct display name will appear. If you need to check the display name immediately, the following steps may help.
- Click on the user who is displayed as “Unknown User.
- Click “Chat” in the window that appears.
- The Private Chat (one-on-one chat) window with the user who was displayed as “Unknown User” will appear, and the correct display name will appear in the area displayed as “Unknown User.
(If this does not work, you may try again after some time.)
