Can I use my organization’s address as the sender’s address?

Addresses registered through the Organization Use Service can be used as the sender address by a Primary Mail account registered as a member of that organizational address.

For webmail and the new Outlook, you can select the organizational address by clicking “From” at the top of the message composition window. If the address is not listed, choose “Other email address…” and enter the organizational address manually. You can also send email from an organizational address in Thunderbird and Apple Mail (Mac Mail) by changing the sender account settings.

The built-in Mail app on iPhone does not support changing the sender address in this manner, so organizational addresses cannot be used as the sender address. Due to system limitations, the classic (old) Outlook does not allow an organizational address to be specified as the sender address.

If I don’t have a Kyushu University Primary mail address, can I forward messages from my organizational address to an off-campus address?

Yes, you can forward your messages by setting the address in the system. However, please use an off-campus mail system for sending.

I want to create a mailing list for a small unit within my organization, such as a lab or project. Can I use the “Organization Use Service” for this?

No, you cannot. The Organization Use Service is a mechanism for receiving all emails addressed to your organization’s domain in bulk. It is not a service intended for creating mailing lists for small groups like labs, teams, or projects. Therefore, it cannot be used to create mailing lists for such units.

I heard some departments use the Organizational Use Service. Is there a way for our lab to use it?
