Microsoft Copilot
Overview
Members of our university (students, faculty, and staff) can use “Microsoft Copilot (formerly known as Bing Chat Enterprise).” Microsoft Copilot is a generative AI chat service that utilizes models such as GPT-4 and DALL-E3.
By using “Microsoft Copilot” with the University’s Microsoft 365 account (SSO-KID), the Enterprise data protection feature will be enabled and the conversation data will not be stored in Microsoft’s system and will not be used for model training.
How to Use
- Access https://copilot.microsoft.com/. If you are prompted to sign in, sign in with your University account (Reference: Sign-in Manual).
- If a banner is displayed at the top, check its contents and click the X to close it.
- If you see a [Sign in] button at the top right, click it, then click [Sign in with a work or school account] and sign in (Reference: Sign-in Manual). If the [Sign in] button is not clickable, refresh the page by reloading the browser.
- After signing in, “Enterprise data protection” icon will be displayed at the top right.
- Enter your question and click the [Submit] button.
For detailed information about the features, please refer to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/copilot/features.
If “Enterprise data protection” is not displayed, you are not using it with the university account, and the Enterprise data protection feature is not enabled. Please be aware.
Notes
- Chat history is not saved. Conversations will disappear by clicking [New topic], reloading the page, restarting the browser, etc.
- To avoid the risk of information leakage, do not enter sensitive information.
- Please handle the generated information with due care to ensure the accuracy of the text, copyright protection, etc.
- “Microsoft Copilot” is different from “Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365.” It does not integrate AI features into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- The Copilot app included with Windows 11 is designed for consumer (personal) use and does not support organizational accounts. Therefore, it cannot be used with our university account. Please use the web browser version following the instructions in the “How to Use” section.
