To users of Proself Disk and Virus Buster on Windows

If you are using Proself Disk and Virus Buster on Windows, it has been confirmed that “pdctl.exe”, a configuration file of Proself Disk, is mistakenly detected as a virus and disinfected. There is no effect on the operation of Proself Disk itself, but it will fail to reinstall or update Proself Disk. The procedure for dealing with this problem can be found on the official website of the manufacturer below, so please take action if this applies to you. If you update Virus Buster, “pdctl.exe” will not be detected as a virus, so please update it before performing the above procedure.

The above URL is only written in Japanese, so a summary of the procedure is provided below.

With Proself Disk for Windows already installed, run the Proself Disk for Windows installer.
The InstallShied Wizard will start, select “Fix” and click “Next”.
After the modified installation is completed, confirm that “pdctl.exe” has been created under “C:\Program Files (x86)\Proself Disk”.
