Announcement of maintenance [Thu, Jun. 18, 2020]

Office 365 license renewal will be performed from 0:00 am on June 19. This may cause Office 365 temporarily unavailable. The maintenance has been postponed 0:00 am on June 23.

Release of Teams team management page. [Thu, Jun. 18, 2020]

We have limited the functionality of Teams because its specifications don’t conform to the university regulations. In response to the recent situation and many requests, we developed an original system for creating teams under the limitation following the university regulations. Faculty and staff who directly employed by the university can apply for creating a team through the Teams team management page. Teamsチーム管理 [暫定]

About removal of some restrictions on the use of Microsoft Teams. [Fri, Apr. 17, 2020]

About setting change to enable external sharing. [Tue, Dec. 25, 2018]

We changed setting for external sharing. All members, included students, can share files on OneDrive with users outside of Kyushu University. Please see here about how to share.

About setting change to enable external sharing. [Fri, Nov. 2, 2018]

It is now possible to share files on OneDrive with users outside of Kyushu University. Please see here about how to share. Users who can set external sharing are limited to faculty and staff, excluding professors emeriti and SSO-KID applicants.

Updates on Office 365 Service [Tue, Oct. 30, 2018]

As announced on July 30, Primary Mail Service of Kyushu University migrates to Exchange Online, an email service of Microsoft Office 365 in December. For a preparation of the migration, several updates on Office 365 services in Kyushu University are planned as the following. User information is updated automatically, and your files and data stored in Office 365 (such as OneDrive for Business) won’t be affected. However, some applications and features of Office 365 might be affected by this update. The details are listed below.

Date: November 20th, 2018 (this update may take a whole day)

Updates:

  1. The user principal names (UPN) of students are changed from student ID base to personal name base.

    Your sign-in ID remains unchanged (SSO-KID). OneDrive for Business Shared link URLs of OneDrive created by students become invalid and need to be recreated. Skype for Business Online meeting URLs of Skype for Business created by students become invalid and need to be recreated. Users outside Kyushu University may need to modify their contact list. New email address is displayed in Office 365 services, but this address is not deliverable until the migration of Primary Mail Service in December.

  2. The organization name registered in Office 365 is changed from “九州大学” to “Kyushu University”.

    OneDrive for Business Currently, OneDrive application for Windows/macOS uses “OneDrive – 九州大学” as the synced folder name. It is changed to “OneDrive – Kyushu University”. The change won’t affect already synced folders. However, once you unlink the application from your account and sign-in again, the synced folder name will be changed automatically, and files in OneDrive cloud storage will be re-downloaded to the new folder. Please make sure that your local files are synced with OneDrive completely if you need to unlink your OneDrive application from your account.

  3. For all users including Japanese users, personal names are displayed using the Latin alphabet.

About sign-ining to old office 365 service environment. [Fri, Aug. 3, 2018]

The old service environment (using ~@ms.kyushu-u.ac.jp) ended service at the end of July. If you want to sign-in for OneDrive's data evacuation etc., please send an e-mail with the following information to office365iii.kyushu-u.ac.jp.
  • Your name.
  • Your affiliation.
  • Sign-in ID.
  • E-mail address.
  • Reason that you want to sign-in.

We updated environment for the Office 365 services. [Wed, Mar. 28, 2018]

Please sign-in with SSO-KID and its password if you have never ever used the Office 365 services. How to sign-in

You can sign-in to old environment with @ms.kyushu-u.ac.jp and password until 31 July. But any data is not copied to new environment from old. For example, files stored in OneDrive etc. It is necessary to move data to new environment by yourself.

Do not set your sign-in ID of Office 365 provided by Kyushu university as the log-on ID on your local PC. [Fri, Oct. 27, 2017]

It is possible to set your sign-in ID of Office 365 to your local PC, but in case of graduation or retirement your ID will be invalid. If your ID of Office 365 is invalid, you can not log-on to your local PC. Therefore, do not set the sign-in ID of Office 365 as the log-on ID on your local PC.

Office 365 sign-in IDs of users whose student IDs were reassigned will be updated as follows. [Mon, Apr. 17, 2017]

Since user information is changed automatically, shared files and stored contents are not affected. Please note the following points.

  • OneDrive for Business URLs of OneDrive of altered ID will be changed. Manual links to them will be invalid.

  • Skype for Business Online conferences owned by altered ID will be invalid. Such conferences need to be created again. External users of Skype for Business need to update contact information manually.
